Volunteering
Each family is required to volunteer to honor the volunteer requirements. Failure to do so will result in the processing of the $250 volunteer deposit at the end of the season.
Team families are required to fill three jobs a season and pre-team families are required to fill two jobs. Pre-team families will be given first priority to fill jobs at social events.
Once we have finalized the roster, we may reduce (never add) volunteer job requirements to reflect the team's needs based on the number of families registered. We will communicate any changes via email before the first swim meet.

Volunteer Positions
Each swim meet depends on the support of parent and family volunteers. Below is an overview of the volunteer roles that must be filled at every meet. Most positions are straightforward, and on-the-job training is provided as needed. Some roles require formal training and are best suited for experienced swim parents (such as Head Timer and Head Clerk of Course).
If you are new to summer swim league, we recommend starting with Lane Timer, Set-Up, Take-Down, Parking Lot Attendant, and Safety Marshall.
Announcer
Announces each event and calls swimmers to report to the Clerk of Course. Works closely with the Starter and Head Clerk of Course to keep the meet running smoothly. [Fixed Position]
Starter
Starts each race by announcing the event, instructing swimmers to “Take your mark,” ensuring all swimmers are motionless, and initiating the start using an electronic sound or whistle. The Starter is the sole judge of false starts and restarts races as needed. Training required. FIXED POSITION
Referee
Oversees all officials, assigns Stroke and Turn Judge positions, resolves disputes, and signs off on the final meet results. FIXED POSITION
Stroke & Turn Judges
Observe the competition for compliance with the technical rules of swimming. Report infractions in writing using the provided DQ slips. TRAINING CERTIFICATION REQUIRED.

Organizes and briefs Lane Timers prior to the meet and oversees timers throughout the event. Previous experience recommended.
Lane Timer
Record swimmers’ times using timing devices. Each lane has three timers.
Clerk of Course

Heat Sheets Runner

Water & Trash
Deliver bottles of water to timers and officials (referee, judges, and scorers) and check and empty trash cans as needed.
